In 2026, the Child and Adolescent Resource Centre (CARC), in cooperation with the Ministry of Welfare of the Republic of Latvia, launched the project “Implementation of a therapy method for working with minors affected by violence” (No. LRLM 2025/70 ESF+).
The aim of the project is to introduce an accessible, standardized and evidence-based psychotherapy approach across Latvia for children and young people aged 3–18 who have experienced violence, in a way that enables the approach to be integrated into the existing social support service system.
Key project activities
- adapting and implementing in Latvia a new evidence-based psychotherapy approach for children and young people affected by violence;
- developing and delivering a training programme for professionals across the regions of Latvia;
- providing regular therapy based on the selected therapeutic approach;
- evaluating the effectiveness and outcomes of the therapy sessions provided.
Through the project, CARC specialists contribute to strengthening evidence-based support for children and young people affected by violence and to developing a sustainable approach that can be integrated into Latvia’s existing support system.
Project Information
The project is implemented from 2026 to 2029 over a period of 34 months and is co-funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) under Measure No. 4.3.6.4/1/24/I/001 “Support Instruments for Reducing Domestic Violence”, within the activity “Implementation of a Therapy Method for Working with Minors Affected by Violence.”
