The Children and Adolescents Resource Centre Support Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the PRC) is launching the implementation of the internationally recognized, research-based “PreVenture” program (hereinafter referred to as the Program) aimed at reducing addiction risk among young people. The Program is being carried out within the framework of the project “Involvement of Non-Governmental Organizations in the Implementation of Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Measures” (hereinafter referred to as the Project) under Measure 4.1.2.8 of the European Union Cohesion Policy Programme 2021–2027 Specific Objective 4.1.2, “Improve equal and timely access to quality, sustainable and affordable healthcare, health promotion and disease prevention services by enhancing the efficiency and resilience of healthcare systems.”

The Project aims to improve equal and timely access to health promotion and disease prevention services by providing local-level initiatives across all planning regions of Latvia to reduce the risks associated with substance use among young people.

To achieve the Project’s objectives, the PRC will implement the following activities:

  • Organize training for at least 20 specialists and group facilitators involved in delivering the Program. The training will be led by certified trainers, including the developers of the Program methodology.
  • Implement the Program for young people aged 12–14 in all regions of Latvia outside the school environment (for example, in youth centres), with the aim of strengthening mental health and developing life skills.
  • Provide parent support groups on adolescent development (online format) and Child Emotional Education (CEE) sessions in person across all regions of Latvia.
  • Conduct communication and awareness-raising activities and develop informational materials for the public (parents, teachers, and others) on addiction prevention.

The Project will be implemented from June 2026 to May 2029 and is funded through the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and the State Budget of Latvia.
